Jamf - How to Deploy MacOS Devices

Devices purchased or leased by the university are automatically enrolled in Apple School Manager and assigned to Jamf
At the time of deployment Mac devices must have their asset tag entered
- This can be done under Devices -> Automated Device Enrollment
- Search for device via serial number
- Click on the "Pencil" button
- Enter asset Tag Information
- **IMPORTANT** Shared user devices such as lab computers must have their profile changed to "Shared Device" prior to deployment
  - This will bypass user assignment and setup
- Enter device name based on the standard naming schema (Building, Room number, asset tag)
  - Lab devices will automatically be assigned based on these names
  - Other groups may need to be assigned manually
